Plastic harms wildlife on land as well as in the sea
Plastic harms many animals, thay can get stuck in plastic bags, chock on small pieces of plastic or get strangled in nets. If you find a animal like this you should call a rescue centre to come and help. Plastic also does not look nice as well as as potentially being harmful to the wildlife.
Where does the plastic come from? Well, some comes from people littering, sometimes bins overflow and the rubbish simply falls out and gets blown away by the wind! Littering is horrible and can seriously hurt or even kill local wildlife so get up and walk over to the bin!
But there’s another problem as well. Some types of single use containers and plastics are made of bits of foam that can split into lots of tiny pieces. These travel in the wind and get everywhere. These can get caught in animals throats or sit in their stomachs. They are one of the many killers of animals who die from plastic pollution. Never leave these plastic containers lying around - they brake up easily and spread everywhere.
