Plastic pollution in seas is killing off wildlife, plastic can be mistaken for food or creatures can get stuck in it.
Plastic in the seas has been a problem for a long time now and it still is. Sea birds can mistake a group of rubbish for a school of fish and get caught in it. Filter feeders can accidentally eat tiny pieces of plastic floating in the water. Others can get stuck inside the plastic. Fish can mistake it for food.
You might be wondering how all this rubbish gets in to the ocean in the first place. Well it can come from litter
on land that has blown over into the sea. It could be from a beach, or could have been purposely chucked in the sea to dispose of it!!!
